NOCO Boost Pro GB150 Jump Starter
3000 amps of dead-battery insurance for up to 80 jump starts — built for the morning the truck doesn't turn over.
Updated October 16, 2026
Every driver has a dead-battery story, and they all end the same way: waiting. Waiting on a service truck, waiting on a jump from a stranger, waiting on dispatch's patience. The NOCO Boost Pro GB150 ends the story at the first sentence — a 3000-amp lithium jump box that lives in the side box, starts up to 7.0L diesels, and carries up to 80 jump starts on one charge. No second vehicle required.
How it works
Clamp, press, crank — three minutes, not three hours
Clamp on
Red to positive, black to negative or a ground point. The clamps are spark-proof and reverse-polarity protected — wrong order does nothing, no fireworks near the battery box.
Press and override
If the battery is too dead to register, hold the manual override button for 3 seconds to force the jump. The built-in voltmeter tells you what the battery reads before you crank.
Start the truck
Crank it, unclamp, drive. Up to 80 starts per charge means you can help the truck next to you too — and still have plenty left in reserve.
Why a jump box beats hoping for a Good Samaritan
Jumper cables only work when there's a second vehicle to connect them to — at a rest stop at 3 AM in January, there might not be one. A roadside service call eats an hour of your clock and a chunk of your wallet, and dispatch hears about it. The jump box removes the other party entirely: the power, the spark-proof clamps, and the override mode are all in one 7.5-pound brick in the side box.
The objection is usually the weight — this is the big brother of the lineup, not the pocket-sized one. Fair, but it's sized for the job: 3000 amps for diesel-sized cranking, and it earns the extra pounds with the voltmeter, the 500-lumen work light, and the USB bank that charges everything else in the cab.
How it stacks up
Jump box vs. the other ways to start a dead truck
| This one: NOCO GB150 jump box | Jumper cables | Roadside service call | Truck-stop jump start kit | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Needs a second vehicle | No — carries its own power | Yes — a willing one | Yes — a paid one | Sometimes yes |
| Wait time | Minutes | However long the stranger stays | An hour plus | Walk-in plus a ride |
| Diesel cranking | 3000A peak, rated to 7.0L diesel | Only as good as the donor battery | Pro-grade | Usually car-sized |
| Dead-battery override | Manual override mode forces the start | Depends on the donor | Yes | Rarely |
| Spark safety | Spark-proof, reverse-polarity protected | Sparks if you rush it | Handled | Varies |
| Extra tools | USB bank + 500-lumen light + voltmeter | None | A bill | None |
| Best for | Self-rescue anywhere, anytime | Busy parking lots with friendly neighbors | Dispatch-reported peace of mind | One-off emergencies near town |

Buyer questions
What drivers ask before buying
Will it start a dead truck battery in -30°C weather?
That's the job it was built for: 3000 amps of peak current and up to 80 jump starts on a single charge, rated for engines up to 7.0L diesel. A cold-soaked diesel pulls hard on the starter, and the manual override mode lets you force a start even when the battery is too dead to read — that's the mode that matters at a rest stop at 3 AM in January.
How is this different from old-school jumper cables?
Cables need a second vehicle willing to sit there with the engine running. A jump box carries its own power: connect the clamps, hit the button, start the truck, done. No asking a stranger to line up grilles with you at a fuel island, no cable-clamp dance in the dark. It also doubles as a USB power bank and a 500-lumen work light.
Do I need to keep it plugged in all the time?
No. The 88 Wh lithium battery holds a charge for months of sitting in the side box. Top it up when you think of it — the charge indicator tells you where it stands. Recharge it between deep discharges rather than letting it sit flat after a big jump start, and it'll be ready for years.
Is it safe to use around a diesel with all those fumes?
The clamps are spark-proof and reverse-polarity protected — connect them backwards or touch them together and nothing happens. That's the whole UltraSafe design: no sparks near the battery box, which is exactly what you want around diesel fumes. Still, keep the cables clear of belts and fans and let the engine compartment breathe before clamping on.
What else does it do besides jump-starting?
Three things: a USB output that charges phones, tablets, and GPS units; a 500-lumen LED with 7 modes (100%, 50%, 10%, SOS, blink, strobe, off) that's a genuine work light for a nighttime inspection; and a built-in voltmeter that reads the vehicle's battery voltage for quick diagnostics before you even try to crank it.
Here's the part that matters: a dead battery is the one breakdown that's entirely preventable from the driver's seat. One jump box in the side box replaces the stranger, the service call, and the lost hours — and the first time it saves a 3 AM start, it's paid for itself in sleep.
The cheapest insurance in the truck box is the one that starts the truck.
